Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol, who died in 1987 at 57 years old has left a mark on the collecting world never seen before. I remember selling the Mick Jagger portraits, which are signed by both Warhol and Jagger, for $800. Ten years ago 20K was a bargain, today 80k is cheap. They will see 150K very soon. The Marilyn Monroe's were also $8-900 in the seventies, by the nineties they were achieving 20-30K , believe it or not today are realizing $200K . Where does it end ? I don't know.

Part of the equation is that the merchandise is dwindling due to abuse and aging. The other part is that there are more houses in America today, and more people earning the money to pay for this caliber of art. Never mind inflation, thats a small part.

If you have a few dollars somewhere, pass it from the watch or the diamond account to the Warhol. for information on available Warhol pieces email to artbargainer@aol.com .
